Tax when you sell your home

You don’t pay Capital Gains Tax when you sell your main home where you lived if you haven’t used part of it for business – its called Private Residence Relief. You do not pay tax on gifts to your husband, wife or a partner. Non-residents only pay tax on UK residential property.
